Fordite or Detroit Agate Pendant with a Sterling Silver Bail. This pendant is reversible, two totally different patterns on each side. Cut, shaped and polished in our workshop. The colors are swirls of metallic red, metallic blue and white. Long ago automobiles. were spray painted by hand. During this process layers and layers of paint would build up on the tracks and skids where they did the painting. The paint would dry and bake and would become heavy and would have to be removed. When spray painting became automated there was no longer any overspray. Pieces of the hardened paint were saved and The swirling bright colors are crafted in to eye catching pendants. Height 1 3/4″.
