Kona Dolomite Slab from Michigan

Kona Dolomite Slab from the Kona Hills of Marquette, Michigan. This was a nice chunk that I slabbed on one of my lapidary saws. This unique stone is only found in the Marquette County Quarry. The iron ore found in the rock gives it the pink and red coloring. The stone is over 2 billion years old. This is a very solid specimen and can be cut to make very attractive jewelry or polished as a display piece. Width 3 3/4″. Height 3 3/8″. Thickness 1/4″. Weight 6.7 oz.  (D) Photo was taken wet in natural sunlight.
