Kona Dolomite Slab from the Kona Hills in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Cut from a large chunk in my lapidary workshop. Kona Dolomite is said to be over 2 billion years old. It is only found in the Marquette County Rock Quarry. The colors are pink, gray, white and red. The iron ore found in the rock is what gives it the unique color and pattern.
