Koroit Opal Pendant from Australia with a Sterling Silver Bail. The colors of the Opal are purple, sky blue and white with a brown Ironstone backing in which the Opal forms. Precious and common Opal form within patches of brown Ironstone. The Opals formed when rain dissolved silica into the earths surface. The silica laden water filled up the cavities in the Ironstone. Koroit Opal is very durable due to the Ironstone backing . The stunning colors reflect in the sunshine and are absolutely dazzling to the eye. This gorgeous pendant would be a precious addition.
