Leland Blue Pendant. Set in Sterling Silver. Cut, shaped and polished in our Lapidary workshop, then set in Sterling Silver. The color is teal blue. Leland Blue is the by product of an iron smelting plant back in the 1800’s. The by products were dumped in to Lake Michigan and cooled. The cooling process resulted in a glass like stone. Leland Blue usually shows gas bubbles in the material. It is a hard to find and much of it does not meet our standards for jewelry. Leland Blue is found in Leland, Michigan. It captures the color of the Great Lakes. (Leland Blue stone in background not included) Height 1 3/8″. Width 7/8″. (A8)
