Petoskey Stone Pendant from Michigan. Wire wrapped in 925 Sterling Silver. This stone we found on one of our Northern Michigan beaches. It was shaped and polished in our workshop. The colors are light brown with dark brown eyes inside the honeycomb six sided pattern. 70,000 years ago a glacier moved through the state and the coral was buried in the muck and fossilized. The fossils are composed of limestone and the crude oil gives them the soft brown color. They can be found on many Northern Michigan beaches. This pendant has the very desirable honeycomb pattern. The Petoskey stone is the State stone of Michigan. Height 1 5/8″ x Width 7/8″ (A4)
