Polished petrified wood for display. This was cut and polished in my lapidary workshop. Petrified or fossilized wood occurs when trees or limbs are buried in the ground. Usually the result of great floods. Over millions of years the minerals in the ground replace the wood and it then fossilizes. The colors are tan and white. This is a very nice specimen polished and ready for display. Width 3 1/4″. Length 3 “Height 1 3/4”. Weight 11.6 oz.
